The days are longer and the temperatures rising, the last thing I want to do is be stuck indoors fussing with my hair. Check out 2 of my go-to styles for the summer months and my favorite products from Sally Beauty!
Wash n’ Go –For the days I want to just shower and run out the door.
Step 1: The foundation of a great wash n’ go is starting off with a clean scalp, removing any product build up, and focusing on infusing moisture. After a thorough shampoo/condition I like to go in with a deep conditioner and one of my favs at the moment is the Self-Heating Coil Conditioning Masque from Texture ID.
This awesome deep conditioning mask is infused with coconut and sweet almond oils and after 15-20 minutes leaves my hair feeling refreshed and soft. The slip it gave was amazing and allowed me to detangle quickly.
Step 2: The only enemy of a great wash n’ go is frizz! Now, I don’t mind a bit of frizz because it gives VOLUME lol but I do like to see my defined curls. To keep my hair moisturized and curls soft I use the Curl Love Moisture Milk from Camille Rose Naturals.
The first thing I noticed about this product was the smell! It’s absolutely amazing and lasts throughout the day without being overwhelming. My hair felt and looked moisturized throughout the day without a greasy, oily residue so overall a great product. I would recommend using a small amount at first to avoid build up or weighing down your curls.
Step 3: A quick detangle and definition with a Denman Brush and a little diffusing & I’m out the door!
Twist Out – When I’m feeling fancy!
Step 1: Every style begins with healthy, moisturized hair. I like to use the Miracle RepaiRx TGIN Curl Food Daily Moisturizer as a daily moisturizer but especially on days when I want a more sleek look to avoid fly aways.
Step 2: The perfect balance of moisture and hold, no crunch! I use the Styling Crème by TextureID to twist my hair into a handful of 2-strand twists on each side and make sure to twist the ends for a defined curl.
Another product with an AMAZING smell! This has become a go-to product for me. I’m recommending it for twist outs but I’ve been using it for braids, twists, and even to help define a few random curls on my wash and gos!
Step 3: Unravel those twists once completely dry and use either a wide tooth comb or pick to fluff away!
This style usually lasts a few days and is perfect for vacation!
